The golf classic received support from 30 sponsors, including the Presenting Sponsor, NC Machinery, along with 50 local contributors. The event raised $50,000 in sponsorships and raffle items. GBI matched the funds raised, donating a total amount of $100,000 to SAGE.
This is the fourth year GBI has held the Wenatchee golf tournament. It all started with the idea to develop a day of service that would involve key partners and suppliers in their business, where participants could have fun while giving back. GBI staff liked the idea of voting on a different charity each year — and after brainstorming different ideas, the GBI Charity Golf Classic was born.
“It is so great the in-person tournament is back,” said Simon Poole, GBI’s Chief Financial Officer who spearheaded the event alongside a committee. “We are honored to support this year’s beneficiary — SAGE — and help them advance their mission in the Valley.”
GBI is no stranger to giving back. The company's mission is to be the contractor of choice by its clients, employees, and communities, and BGI continually seeks out opportunities to do good. Past beneficiaries of the tournament include CASA, The Children’s Home Society, and Brave Warrior Project — who collectively received more than $250,000.

"Goodfellow Bros.’ golf tournament was an amazing experience,” said Jessica Johnson, SAGE Executive Director. “Not only did Goodfellow Bros. raise a significant amount of money to help our clients at SAGE to begin to heal from their trauma, but the business also showed how much they care about the people who live in our valley. I was touched and humbled to see how willing they were to work to make our community stronger, and their employees were especially warm, caring, and generous. SAGE is honored to have been chosen as the charity beneficiary of this year’s tournament funds and is thankful for all the new friends we made along the way.”
